Independence Statue Iasi

It is a statue made of bronze monument located in Independence Square
Important data about the statue of Independence monument dezvelirii:

Sculptors: husbands Gabriela Manole Adoc and Gheorghe Adoc unveiling from the statue, in front of which unites with the Mihai Eminescu Central Library Fair Cucului was named Independence Avenue.

Significance of Independence statue:

The monument was originally designed in connection with the fulfillment of the 100th anniversary of the independence of Romania (1877). Such as in Bucharest, in 1975 at Scanteii House has organized a national contest in which they came out winners Sherry husbands. The requirements of the contest were: a feminine presence to symbolize Romania's independence.
This female model of the monument was chosen by Gabriela Manole Adoc after an aunt to her, a lady who was part of the fashionable society of the interwar years:  Emilia Captaru (a sister of a prefect of Iasi)

At the base of the monument, the cap of 6 m high travertine is found, we find 6 altoreliefuri from significant moments that have contributed to the idependenta of Romania: the people's call to arms, the conquest of Plevna, Redutei Turkish army Surrender, the passage of the Danube, the proclamation of Independence, Great victory of Romanian flags.

The monument was unveiled with great fanfare on the 27.05.1912 in the presence of King Carol I.


 10 m tall, the statue: 3.5 m, and socket pedestal: 6,5 m statue of Domnitor Alexander John Cuza Iasi Statue: Prince: infatisat in the uniform of an officer.
At the base of the statue represented size: Mihail Kogalniceanu, Costache Negri, Petre Nicolae Kretzulescu and General Emanuel Florescu.
